There are several logical holes in this view. First, we don't *know* that even the best current cryopreservations are keeping the memories and other mental attributes intact for future nanotechnology to restore. Yes, I also am a nanotechnology advocate to the extent that I would agree that there is no question but that if you can stay frozen long enough, nanotechnology will be able to bring back a young and healthy version of your present self. However, if your memory and other precious mental attributes were *destroyed* by the original cryopreservation process, then *you* won't be there! And second, even if your memory and other mental faculties *are* being preserved by current techniques, are you willing to bet your life on the ability of the currently small and insecure cryonics community to get you through undamaged to that future time when nanotechnology will be able to restore you? Especially, when for a relatively small sum of money (as research projects go), we have a very good chance of both ensuring that your cryopreservation will *not* do major damage to your mental processes, and also because of the major scientific and public acceptance which demonstrated fully reversible brain cryopreservation will generate, of vastly enlarging cryonics so that it *can* take you safely through to future reanimation. >BTW, thanks for the info re the PP mailing list, I probably overlooked it, >so how about briefly posting access to same here? I believe that you have misunderstood. The special Prometheus Project email list is only for discussions among those who have *already* pledged. And anyway why would you wish to know is address, since subscribing to it would only waste more of your time? :) -- Paul -- !!!!! REVERSIBLE BRAIN CRYOPRESERVATION *CAN* BE ACHIEVED IN 10 YEARS !!!!!
