Once the Visser method is published, anyone will be able to participate in its evaluation and development. Still, I'm glad she's allowing CI and Alcor an early opportunity to test her method on brains. The results obtained, if positive, will add yet another technical resource to the Prometheus Project. As to the method itself, I confess I do not understand how the rat heart result justifies the claim that a single cryoprotective agent will allow the "perfect cryopreservation of each and every organ in the body (including the brain)... in TWO YEARS FLAT" (emphasis added). How can one even begin to evaluate such an extraordinary claim in absence of supporting information? I truly hope the paper appears soon, so that these claims can be discussed in detail. Perhaps Ms. Visser should re-submit to CryoLetters, which has much more liberal editorial policies than Cryobiology. *************************************************************************** Brian Wowk CryoCare Foundation 1-800-TOP-CARE President Human Cryopreservation Services http://www.cryocare.org/cryocare/ Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6876
