X-Message-Number: 6887 Date: 12 Sep 96 15:53:02 EDT From: Saul Kent <> Subject: Research Plans And Exclusivity On today's Cryonet, Dave Pizer asks for $100,000 in donations to Alcor for research into the Visser technology. I would appreciate it if Alcor would post details about their proposed research, including what they plan to do, how they will do it, who will do it, where it will be done, and their research goals for the project. When Bob Ettinger announced the results of the experiments with rat hearts, which were peformed last week at Alcor, he stated that: "In return for help in funding their further research, the Vissers have given CI and Alcor exclusive licenses to use their present and future technology for cryonics purposes." I'd appreciate it if Bob would post answers to the following questions: Is there a signed contract with the Vissers? Do Alcor and CI have separate agreements with the Vissers? How is the right to use "future technology for cryonics purposes" defined in the agreement? How much money have CI and Alcor pledged to the Vissers research in return for the "exclusive licenses"? ---Saul Kent Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6887
