Prometheus Project Public Meeting in Sunnyvale, California

The featured speaker at this meetings will be an expert in cryobiology
who will speak about the science aspects of the Prometheus Project.
Paul Wakfer, founder of the Project will also be on hand to provide
information on other aspects of the Project and to give an update
on the progress of the pledge campaign and it promtion plans.

Everyone interested in life extension is invited to attend.

The Prometheus Project is an exciting new proposal to convincingly
demonstrate and publish in scientific journals, the fully reversible,
long-term cryopreservation of a mammalian brain. This Project, which
is expected to take 10 years and to cost $1,000,000 per year, is currently
in its pledge campaign phase. The Project's scientific and business plans
are being developed while the pledge campaign is in progress. When sufficient
pledges have been made, a for-profit corporation will be formed to conduct
the Project research and the pledgers will be invited to purchase shares.
After three months of effort on the Internet, $3,087,000 has been pledged
by more that 50 people.

Current work in organ cryopreservation is at an advanced stage of development
with research to reversibly vitrify rabbit kidneys very close to successful
completion. The cryobiologist who is acting as scientific advisor to the
Prometheus Project will describe how this work might be applied to the
reversible cryopreservation of the brain and will also describe methods for
demonstrating the restoration of mental faculties in such a recovered brain.
