Subject: Will Dye's Donor Card

First I have to apologize for seeming to ignore this topic. Obviously I
appreciate that Will Dye values CryoCare enough to list us on the "donor"
line of his driver's license. (Seems a little odd to be discussing this
in a public forum--but I guess Will initiated it, so he doesn't mind.)

I realize that the listing was a gesture, not intended as a formal
contract, but it saddens me a bit because gestures won't help Will much
when all is said and done, and I am concerned that a declaration of intent
might not be good enough in this situation either. Hostile relatives have
been a problem--perhaps THE most persistently difficult legal
problem--ever since the early days of cryonics. Will, I believe you are
simply going to have to resolve this problem before you can feel confident
of getting frozen. Even when you are "safely" cryopreserved, you are not
necessarily safe from relatives, depending on the circumstances.

If you want me to talk about cryonics with the person concerned, I would
be willing to do so.
