I wasn't jumping to any conclusions.  I've read the "Shufflebrain"
articles.  I've also read reviews of Lashley's work, and talked with some
top researchers in learning and memory today (e.g., Stuart Zola (formerly
Zola-Morgan) and Larry Squire, both here at UCSD).

But I agree, the issue is important and discussion is warranted.  I was
trying to contribute by presenting the current understanding, as agreed
apon by nearly all neuroscientists as far as I can tell.  But of course I
welcome any commen or evidence to the contrary.
