I wasn't able to give a very good answer. The answer to this is really quite simple. 1) The total yearly funding for 21CM is nowhere near the $1million per year that appears to be required for the research of the Prometheus Project. 2) The money funding 21CM is not all being spent on research leading to suspended animation. 3) The 21CM funding is not pledged for ten years as required by the Prometheus Project. 4) Those wanting to see the achievment of perfected suspended animation, and willing to fund that goal, do not wish to rely solely on the continued funding of only two people from one organization. The cryoprotectant work at 21CM is extremely welcome and will hopefully lead to advances that will make the Prometheus Project even more feasible. However, it is not a replacement for the Project. Instead, the timely execution of this research and the procurement of equipment which will be needed for conducting the Prometheus Project research should allow the Project to begin earlier and possibly to reach its goal sooner. -- Paul -- Paul Wakfer email: phone:909-481-9620 pager:800-805-2870 HELP TO ACHIEVE - PERFECTED SUSPENDED ANIMATION WITHIN 20 YEARS!
