Subject: Metamorphosis Society News Feb/1997

Hi, This is Mizuho.
The following is the first monthly report of the Metamorphosis Society:

******* Metamorphosis Society News Feb/1997 *******

What was done and talked about:

A new organization, Metamorphosis Society was launched by people
interested in cryonics in Japan. A call on people to participate in the
activities was made on the Cryonet.

The key messages transmitted are as follows:

Message intended for the general public worldwide:

" Join us and go to the future. Endeavor to make our
future the best we can,"

Message intended for those who are already interested in cryonics:

" We have to try our best to make our future in a
good state. We would be better off forming a
cooperative network for it. Our successors will take
care of the rest."

Join us!! You can find more detail at the URL,

The mailing list started on Feb 14 with its initial participants of
nine. The following shows some of the members:

    Kelly Anne Moy
    Joseph Strout
    Klaus Reinhard
    Paul Walker
    Ben Best
    Takaaki Kaburagi
    Mizuho Hirose

The followings are subjects we talked about in February:
-The status quo of cryonics in Japan and Germany.
-Study on the feasibility of initial cool-down and perfusion in Japan
(The pre-treatment should be followed by packing the body in dry ice and
shipping it for the final cool-down and long-term storage in the U.S. It
is not too easy; it is necessary to make a speacial effort to make it
happen.)
-How best we can spread the concept of the Society from now on.

What comes next:

-Need to improve the recognition of the Society.
-Need to publicize the Society through networks such as sci.cryonics
,sci.life-extension, extropy mailing-list and transhuman mailing-list.
-We would like to ask Mr. Steven Valentine, an Amerian architect, to
help us.
-Need to improve our Web site. Preparation of a frequently asked
questions (FAQ) page, for instance.
