Subject: Life Extension Fellowship of Silicon Valley - brunch, then party

Last Sunday's brunch was a success. I estimate there were 18 people
there. We took over a row of tables in the quarter of the restaurant
furthest from the exit of the cafeteria line.

Let's do it again this Sunday, then have a meeting to help people
finish their cryonics paperwork the Sunday after that. In the long
term, I suggest alternating social brunches with meetings focused on
particular topics.

The location and time for this Sunday's brunch is the same as last
time:

   When: 11am, Sunday, May 25
   Where: Fresh Choice
          2540 W. El Camino Real
          Mountain View, CA

The meeting for helping people with cryonics paperwork will be the
Sunday afterward (6/1/97) somewhere near Sunnyvale, to be determined.
To set it up, here's the help I need --

Recommendations for a life insurance agent to invite.
Recommendations for a notary to invite.
Responses from people who plan to come saying whether they will
need to talk to the life insurance agent and how many
notarizations they need. I'll add up the responses I get, and
provide the totals to the life insurance agent and notary so
they will know how much money they'll make by showing up.
Pointers to good web sites for life insurance shopping, so people
will be informed shoppers when they talk to the life insurance
      agent.

If you want to get signed up for cryonics and you don't have the blank
forms in your hands, you could still finish the paperwork at this
meeting if you choose a cryonics organization and contact it now to
get the paperwork.

There will, of course, be at least a few people somewhat knowledgeable
about cryonics at this meeting. If you have questions about it, it
would be good to come and ask them so people have something to talk
about while filling out the boring paperwork.

I will also try to have equipment on hand for generating a
"Certificate of Religious Belief" that is the right size and
durability for paperclipping to a drivers license. This is good to
have because it is likely to prevent an autopsy if you have a traffic
accident.

I'll send out a separate announcement with the details for this within
a week.
