Subject: bug blood cryoprotectant

In the August 21'st issue of Canada's Globe & Mail newspaper it was
reported that Canadian scientists at the Canadian Queen's University have
isolated a Canadian bug blood protein which is 100 times more effective an
antifreeze than a similar protein found in American fish. When freezing
does start ice crystals are smaller and more rounded than normal. Sounds
like Canadian beetles could soon become a major export to the USA.
