I believe that there is now a relatively simple algorithm that will 
calculate the digits of PI from a given digit. I thought I had it on my 
system, but I see it is no longer there.

Incidentally just calculating PI as a number is limited by the precision of 
the computer used - you need something more complicated to actually 
calculate the digits to a particular base.
