X-Message-Number: 8557 From: Andre Robatino <> Subject: Re: CryoNet #8546 - #8551 Date: Sun, 7 Sep 97 20:23:47 EDT Correction to my previous message - in practice, to do the factoring, one would run the QC enough times to get high likelihood that all the bits were read correctly, and then check the answer gotten by putting together the best guess for each bit. If this doesn't work, one knows some of the bits were wrong, so one runs the QC some more to get better statistics, then tries again, etc. The principle is the same but the probability of getting the right answer rises for each run (but never quite reaches 1) instead of being constant as I said before.
