Yes, the problem is complicated by one other issue that you have likely just begun to notice. Compared to the the total population of the US (or any other developed country) cryonicists are a VERY small minority. The scientific research to attain the REAL success we want unfortunately not only costs money, but requires more support than we currently can give. And it seems to ME (others may argue about this) that like it or not WE will have to do and support that research. So increases in our numbers will, I hope, lead to more work of the kind you rightly describe as SUCCESS. If it were not for the signs of a "religious" approach to cryonics which I have noticed (I do NOT think they are dominant, at least for now), I would have told you of the complications alone--- the issues I describe in the 2nd paragraph. But you are right to notice that tone, and I for one hope that you come on board rather than refuse to join because of it --- because by so doing you will help to bring the emphasis back on center, from which I think some cryonicists (again, not all, and almost entirely not the influential ones) have begun to drift away.
