On the issue of growth in cryonics, Thomas Donaldson states
the following:

"...for decades into the future we must reconcile ourselves to the
fact cryonics simply isn't going to be numerous on any absolute scale."

I disagree. I think there is huge potential for growth in cryonics
over the *next* decade, however, I do not think this is possible with our
current methods of preservation.

The number one requisite for growth, I believe, is substantial
improvement in the cryopreservation of organs and organisms documented in
scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals, with a well-funded
research program in place to continue that improvement. At some point
after this occurs, I believe it will be possible to mount a highly
effective campaign to sign up new members based upon these advances.

Over the past several years, all my efforts in cryonics have been
directed to funding the research necessary to achieve the above objectives.
I believe that increased funding for research should be the number one
priority of the cryonics movement, and I call on all cryonicists to contribute
to this research. The more money we contribute/invest in research, the
faster cryonics will grow and the better our chances of survival.
