On Sat, 15 Nov 1997, Theo Richel wrote interestingly about Kubler Ross.

Kubler Ross wrote the entry in Encyclopedia Britannica on death. It's
worth a look. It does mention cryonics, and is not as negative as some of
her other writings on this subject. Her basic message, though, is
ACCEPTANCE, which of course is the exact opposite of the cryonics message.
I tend to think that her popularity doesn't have much to do with her being
"warm" and cryonics being "cold" (emotionally speaking). Most people do
feel that death is inevitable, and thus they find it much easier if
someone shows them how to reconcile themselves to the inevitability of it
all. Statistically, there are always more people who prefer to fit in with
the parameters of life rather than rebel. Rebellion is innately
unsettling.
