i think we've been over this argument before.  i agree with steve's position.  i
think

there's a culture shift happening (glacially slowly) in our favor.  when the 
concept

is no longer bizarre, the words won't matter anyway (or they will have evolved 
anyway,
driven by media popularization of slang).
