X-Message-Number: 9034 Date: Tue, 20 Jan 1998 18:34:27 -0500 (EST) From: Charles Platt <> Subject: Personnel Changes at CryoCare On Sunday, January 18, a special meeting of the directors of CryoCare accepted the resignation of Brian Wowk, who had served as the President of CryoCare since June 1st, 1995. Brian is, I think, the only president of any cryonics organization who has ever succeeded in holding that title for more than two years without becoming imbroiled in any form of conflict or controversy. This comment may sound flippant, but in fact it is a testimonial to Brian's great decency, stability, and fairness. Bearing in mind that he also has a Ph.D. in medical physics, it's hard to imagine a better person to run a cryonics organization. Still, I quite understand his desire to spend more time on research now that he has relocated in California and has accepted a position at the new lab owned by 21st Century Medicine. I have been elected to take Brian's place as President of CryoCare, and I have also joined the board of directors. Brian has agreed to serve as Vice-President. Ben Best remains our Secretary, and Kevin Brown continues as Treasurer. Carlotta Pengelley has resigned from her position as Member Services Administrator, due to the pressure of family obligations. We're sorry to lose Carlotta in this role, because she brought such a human touch to a difficult job. She has told us, however, that she remains available to help out on an informal basis. --Charles Platt Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=9034
