Mr Wakfer has suffered a lot of abuse on the Internet newsgroups as many people regarded him as the recipient of huge checks (probably only on a cursory reading of his posts). If directors of a public corporation break the rules, then of course they are punished. But if they state their aims as research, they do the research and get no commercial result, then that is accepted by the investment community. The advantage to investors is that they chose when and how much to invest. The directors don't even know who the shareholders are is the shareholders have brokerage accounts, so they can't send individual letters demanding more money as do charitities. With Internet stock trading organisations charging very low fees it is possible for the poorest of cryonicists to own a few shares and feel involved in 21CM if it were public. > From: "John P. More importantly, Mr Pietrzak's contribution misses the point of cryopreservation. When revival is possible, technologies will exist to cure most present reasons why the medical profession are unable to help patients who could be cryopreserved now. If we wait until revival is possible, then the number of people who could benefit from cryopreservation would be much smaller than now. Also those who are dying now will not be helped at all. -- ***************************************** Sincerely, * Longevity Report * * http://www.longevb.demon.co.uk/lr.htm * John de Rivaz * Fractal Report * * http://www.longevb.demon.co.uk/fr.htm * * Music I like - see homepage * ***************************************** In the information age, sharing can increase world wealth enormously, because giving information does not decrease your information. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/JohndeR Fast loading, very few slow pictures Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=9069
