Please, Charles. You know better than that. The Prometheus Project is merely an
idea and a

pledge campaign. It has no formal status as any kind of organization at all.
What kind of

organization will execute the Prometheus Project if it should ever be realized
is still an

open question which is a long way from yet needing a resolution since the pledge
total is
only at the $400K/yr level.

The Prometheus pledges are all *conditional* pledges. No money is collectable
until

science plans have been formulated, an organization has been formed to execute
the science

plans, scientists have committed themselves to the project, and pledgers with a
total of

$1million in pledges have accepted the plans, personnel and organization. The
Prometheus

Project is not a trivial task. Many things: scientists, plans, organization,
personnel,

are highly likely to change back and forth as we try to find a path through the
impossible

maze of difficulties which is interposed between those of us who earnestly
desire it, and

the successful conclusion of the Project. If this wasn't so then suspended
animation would

already be perfected, right? There is no need or purpose to feel either way,
confident or
unconfident about what has not yet transpired.

The current hippocampal brain slice project (it will no longer be called the
Prometheus

Pilot Project) for which I will very soon be posting full details, will most
likely be

executed for expediency and better interface with the establishment university
research

institute where it is being conducted, by an already approved 501(c)(3)
corporation called

the Institute Of Neural Cryobiology (IONC). Final plans for that arrangement are
being

worked out even as the final touches are being put on the research proposal to
be

submitted to the university institute in early March. All pledgers will be
informed of the

final arrangements and if any wish to have their money back because of any
changes in the
situation they will be entirely welcome to request it.

Charles, if you are not happy being a pledger for whatever reason, you are free
to

withdraw your pledge with my "blessing" at any time. The same holds for any
other pledger.

Please let me know and I will strike you from the list and reduce the pledge
total
accordingly.
