Mike Darwin has corrected me. On one occasion two patients needed attention, and one of them simply had to wait 24 hours after legal death, because only one team was available, and it was already busy elsewhere. On another occasion, two cases were done simultaneously by two separate teams. Mike also points out that "simultaneously" can be a misleading term, because typically a standby/transport team would require recovery time, travel time, and time to replenish supplies, between finishing one case and starting another. For practical purposes, then, if there is only one team and two patients reach legal death within 48 hours of each other, the cases would be "simultaneous," creating major problems. Of course, if there are two equally well qualified teams, and two sets of state-of-the-art equipment, there's no problem. But currently we are not in this situation. --CP Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=9363
