Subject: Tolerance

Friends, this is a plea for tolerance. I've met a number of cryonics people
and have, as a stranger with nothing to recommend me but the cryonics
connection, been shown incredible hospitality. But something bad happens
when we sit down in front of the little screen with the keyboard. Please ask
yourselves before you type, "Is it possible that he is a little bit right,
and I am a little bit wrong?"

Those of us who are scientists, those of us who have a long-standing
interest in cryonics, will not be deflected from our course by the attacks
and counterattacks, but newcomers may give up. In fact, it is a good thing
that different protocols are available. It offers us a chance to use our
judgment as to which we prefer and how much money we want to pay to support
our choices.

It may be a hundred years or more before we know which provider does the
best job. Maybe all are adequate, maybe none. In the meantime, let us each
advance his own ideas while minimizing criticism of our colleagues.
