It is written with good intentions. Lately, on the net, there has been some criticism of Saul Kent for posting a negative message. I sympathize with Saul. I believe part of his message (the important part) was overlooked by many. That part is not to agonize over the hard things that need to be done to make cryonics better, but rather to DO something. I often chuckle to myself when I read some of the long-winded posts about how to make things better and what is right and what is wrong with cryonics, from people who havn't done anything positive. Many, many years ago I heard the best advice on this from Mike Darwin (who was then running Alcor). I said: Mike what does cryonics need to make it better? Mike replied and told me that we need people who will "roll up their sleves and DO some good work." I would like to echo that and add: "We also need people who will contribute money." Nothing has changed since then. These are the two things that will raise the odds that you and I won't have to be dead forever, while the rest of the world goes on enjoying life. A person who truely wants to do something will mention cryonics several times a week to new people he/she meets. And, encourage friends to sign up, now. And donate and invest in cryonics on a regular basis. If you want to stroke your ego - post long messages. If you want to help make it work - send money and send members. The world will little note nor long remember what we do on CryoNet, but WE will remember *only* if we DO the things neccessary to insure survival.
