X-Message-Number: 964 From: Subject: Corrected RESULT: sci.cryonics passes 204 to 59. Date: Tue, 07 Jul 92 11:44:42 -0400 The original post for the vote for sci.cryonics said it passed 205 to 58. I've turned up two errors in the tally: Bob Smart voted twice as Bob Smart <> and (Bob Smart). Discarding one of them leaves 204 yes votes. Greg Lindahl <> says he voted against the newsgroup, but his vote was apparently never received at my machine. Adding him to the no list gives 59 no votes. Two machines (balrog.aecom.yu.edu and aurora.engr.latech.edu) turned in unusually many similar votes. I'm satisfied that all of them are legitimate. I sent mail to these people asking for their phone numbers, which most of them gave. I verified some of the phone numbers with directory assistance but never called any of them. As promised, I have deleted the phone numbers from my records. Thanks to the people listed below for their patience. Most (perhaps all) of the people on balrog who voted against creation of the newsgroup work in the neurology department of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. If it is obvious to a neurologist that cryonics can't work, then I invite them to participate in the new newsgroup and try to make it obvious to the rest of us. Tim Freeman No votes from balrog.aecom.yu.edu: (William F. Mullin) (Luigi Arena) (Baxter Garcia) (Ed Geraghty) (Eileen Sipperley) (John Foxe) (Charlie Chang) Yes votes from aurora.engr.latech.edu: (Micheal B. O'Neal) (Patrick K. Bronson) (Don Garrett) (Richard W. Jamison) (Anthony J. Caruso) (Charles Alan Daniel) (Thomas Lee Bont) (Ray F. Gasser) (Craig A.
