A truly great idea (I'm still shaking with laughter from the curse of the Pharaoh part) the good news is that such facilities are already available. The Govt has been selling off old missle silo facilities, I read about this in an architectural magazine a couple of years ago. In the magazine a yuppie couple had bought one and converted it into a home. These facilities were deliberately located in remote areas away from potential natural disasters and when sealed are impenetratable short of a silo buster. They could be perfect for our needs.
