Subject: CRYONICS: Slips in security?

   Incidentally, this prudence applies at all levels. Recently,
   one of the people who works full-time at Riverside casually
   mentioned to me the name of the member from Southern
   California who was frozen a few weeks ago. This was
   confidential information and should never have been given
   out. The fact that it happened so easily and casually
   suggests to me that it may happen at other times, too.

I doubt this happens with any degree of frequency. I've seen Tanya and
Ralph (the only two full time Alcor folks I've been in the presence of
for a prolonged period of time) be extraordinarily anal retentive
about giving out NO information on suspension patients; indeed, Tanya
said at one point that her current policy was not even to confirm or
deny the presense of Walt Disney in Alcor's tanks, and we all know
that Walt isn't there. If someone mentioned a name to you, Charles, I
suspect that it was likely an accident, possibly because of the
extraordinary stress the whole Riverside crew has been under for the
last month. Remember, people occassionally slip, and one event does
not a statistical study make. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt;
they are a great bunch of people and haven't had much rest lately.
