X-Message-Number: 9923 Date: Sat, 20 Jun 1998 23:41:35 -0700 From: Paul Wakfer <> Subject: Neurocryobiology Project Funding Update Since my previous notice that the project "Cryopreservation of Hippocampal slices" had been fully approved for joint funding by a research institute affiliated with a major Southern California university medical center, the Institute of Neural Cryobiology has received the following additional donations either deposited or on the way. Peter Gouras - $200 in addition to his prior $200 Forrest Bishop - $500 Gil Schaerer - $1000 Wendy Tracy - $500 Tim Freeman - $5000 in addition to his prior $1000 I wish to thank all these people for their support, but most especially Tim for his munificense. Until his donation came along (on Friday), I was getting a bit discouraged at the lack of response now that the project is ready to begin. There are many in the original pledger group who should be able to afford the amount Tim has donated more easily than him, who have not yet donated at all. I don't know the reasons are, but if there is something that needs to be done differently to entice you to donate please let me know. I had expected that the immense value of this project would suffice to generate the relatively small needed funding. At this time, we have about $42,000 and we still need about $36,000 more in donations. All donations should be made out and sent to: The Institute for Neural Cryobiology 8439 White Oak Ave, Unit 110 Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730-3860 Since the Institute for Neural Cryobiology is a US federal and California Public Benefit Corporation, all donations during 1998 may be used to reduce your 1998 US federal and California state taxable income. -- Paul -- Voice/Fax: 909-481-9620 Page: 800-805-2870 The Institute for Neural Cryobiology - http://neurocryo.org Perfected cryopreservation of Central Nervous System tissue for neuroscience research and medical repair of brain diseases Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=9923
