There seems to be great number of intelligent, imaginative, gifted, etc. people
who simply do not enjoy life. For one to wager against death it=

requires a lust for life. I personally abhore death, for I see it as the end,
but many see it as solace. I have been able to convince a few=

individuals to consider cyronics, but the vast majority simply does not wish
for a significantly extended life. Speaking from experience at a huge=

university with thousands of gifted individuals, people are simply depressed.
Every year there are a few students who jump into the gorges and=

a few others who go less dramatically, but more importantly there are hundreds
if not thousands wishing they had done the same. It seems that=

intelligence and depression go hand in hand for many, and why not? The smarter
and more perceptive one is the more one realizes how unjust=

everything is. Personally I see the world as entirely unjust and corrupt but
know that humankind and technology can change it; however, most are not=

so optimistic and patient so they want the easy way out. So essentially, if
peoples' lives are not rewarding and worth living in their own eyes, not=

our eyes, no amount of reason can convince to try cryonics, a technology which
only promises to extend their misery.
