Subject: Reply to Some Charges

I have the following replies to some charges which have been made
against me in this forum:

1)  I have never written or said anything with the intention of
    hurting anyone (with the possible exception of thoughtless,  
    impulsive anger).  Everything that I have, after thought, ever
    said or written was done to persuade and inform.  If I have hurt
    people by what I have said or done, since I have used no physical
    force, I believe the hurt is their problem not mine.

2)  As you may have noticed, I have not taken part in the process to
    determine the methods and directions of Alcor's operations since
    the termination of my suspension contract with that organization
    and my explanation of the reasons therefore.  This does not imply
    any criticism of those who remain in that process, but I have
    already spent far more of my time, energy and money taking part
    than I ever intended to when (it seems so long ago) I wrote that
    simple straight-forward request for a presidential search
    committee.  I am not and have never been a political person.  I
    certainly have no time for the ongoing process now.  I am devoting
    all my time, energy and money to promoting and doing the research
    necessary to make cryonics acceptable to the scientific community. 
    I sincerely hope that the problems with Alcor soon get resolved
    favorably to my requirements or another organization arises, so
    that I may again be a suspension client.

3)  And finally, I state again as I have stated before:
    a)  I am not a fugitive from any judicial jurisdiction.
    b)  I do not recognize the phrase 'cheating on his taxes'
        as having any meaning.
    c)  I have acted to minimize the theft of my legally and morally   
        earned assets and I am proud of my accomplishments in this     
        area.  I have been telling others of these accomplishments in
        order to inform them that it can be done.  My purpose in this
        has always been to show the way, that they might follow in my
        footsteps and therefore help to reduce the universal theft of
        private property which is profligate in our civilization.  In
        Canada, no one has ever tried to use these facts against me. 
        I am dismayed to find that some cryonicists will stupe to that
        level.
    d)  If anyone wishes to place a telephone call to any government   
        agency, the worst that you could do would be to end my        
        contribution to cryonics.  This would be a great loss for us   
        all since I plan to remain in cryonics research for many years
        and to contribute many thousands of intelligent man-hours and
        many tens of thousands of dollars.  Otherwise, I have no
        concern about the outcome of such a call.
