I just received online copies of two papers from Michael Soloviov
() of St. Petersburg, Russia.  The most recent
one is the 14.4 KB message #2879.1:

    Atomic Printers or Time Estimation of Atom-by-Atom Brain Assembling

which concerns a design for using STM needles to reconstruct a person
atom-by-atom.  Readers of Ralph Merkle's "Molecular repair of the brain",
which he cites, will recognize a lot of the ideas behind this.  The paper
is well-illustrated with detailed ASCII graphics.

The other paper is the 19 KB message #2879.2:

                 Artificial  Metempsychosis.
      A Search of Methodology for Personality Simulation

which concerns Soloviov's approach toward uploading.
